This reel already stopped working 40days later. Something on the inside looks to be chewed up.

The rod was damaged but the box was not

The reel arrived the first time and immediately had issue. The anti reverse switch broke after switching it back forth. pennoutlet.com seller was contacted and had sent a new reel immediately two days after requested. This was very welcome and earned much credit with me. Out the box this product is very light. Not as smooth as some of my other reels, but surprisingly after a day of playing with it and fanangling it seems to have become buttery smooth. The reel spool has a rubber banding that sits flush in a receess, allowing braid to be tied directly. Due to the large capacity a mono backing was used. The bail doesn't automatically shut, which is an absolute must in my eyes. The bail detent holds open and closes with authority. The line lay was perfect and precise out of the box. The biggest strength of this reel is how ridiculously light it is. Using a polymer and carbon fiber accents for weight savings. Some may not be happy with the choice as polymer seems less durable than metal, but the same was said about Glock when it first came around. Paired with a St. Croix Mojo surf in the 9" length, the rod was very very light and will allow for all day casting with minimal fatigue. I look forward to using this and putting it to the test.

I’ve been fly fishing for 10+ years and have never had a rod snap from casting. Penn may make good spinning reels but their rods are trash. Go buy a TFO and a decent reel and save the headache.

The end was sticking out of the box so the product was damaged. Very sad.

Guaranteed this pole makes it's way onto the boat or in the car for every single fishing trip I go on!!! I purchased the 7', medium fast rod and it can literally do it all (inshore, offshore, boat, surf). The graphite composite rod is lightweight for all day use in the ocean and does not exhaust my arms, but still heavy and strong to pull in a 15 lb fish. My typical use is in the bay for fluking and it works great! I am always bringing home some dinner for the family!! The full metal body reel is incredibly smooth with carbon fiber drag washers. Be sure you rinse it throughly with fresh water after returning to the dock as the saltwater will cause corrosion if left to sit. I have purchased a number of more expensive rod and reel combos that are not nearly as good quality as this Penn III for the price. You will not be disappointed in the durability, versatility and ability to reel in the biggest catch in your group! Worth the money a hundred times over and will absolutely be buying another to add to my collection soon. The cork handle is a wonderful addition for added comfort and grip, plus it looks really nice!

Bought the pole and put the PENN fathom star reel. Amazing strength! Feels good in hand. Best rod I've used by far! I use to buy abu Garcia product but they kept breaking. Switched over to PENN not a single reel or rod has broken! "Got snagged at the bottom pulled up a tire I would say maybe 30 pounds full of mud and water!"

Item received was not the item advertised. The item advertised was, Penn QTROZGSEFB100 Reel Precision Grease Tube, 1/4-Ounce, which is the picture on the right. What I receive was a tube .25 oz which is the picture the left.

I'm generally a huge fan of Penn reels, but here's a big exception. A small reel like this with a narrow spool should be great for casting live bait and jigs, but the freespool on the 20N wasn't very free at all. It just didn't turn very well, like maybe a trace of drag was slightly engaged. That's a huge issue with a reel this size, but an even bigger issue is this: on its very first use, three out of the four pins connecting the reel to the foot came loose. If they would have used little screws I could have just tightened them up again and kept fishing, but they opted for these cheap pins, which are basically just cylinders that easily slide out of position. So the more I fished, the more wobbly the reel became, until it finally popped loose altogether (see photo). It's bizarre to me that their engineers didn't foresee this happening. I've also attached a photo with a more detailed view of the issue. I should reiterate, Penn generally makes fantastic reels. I'm not sure what the situation is with this Warfare 20N. Maybe I just got a defective one. I have no idea. But I would advise people to pay-up for a higher quality model. The Warfare 20N has a great price tag, but it's just not worth it. Spend a few extra bucks and get something you can fish with for years - as opposed to this one, which didn't last me a single day.

I paid 160$. Great rod, very good reel. I already landed a few chinook and browns 20+ pounds. Very easy. Thank you.

I have no bad comments about the product, everything was great

Great combo for the money. The tip is sensitive enough to feel fine bites from fish like haddock that tend to just nibble. But the rod has enough back bone to swing 16-20 oz jigs.

Order should have had multiple covers...only had 1 😡😡😡
