Very very strong, and very well balanced. Paired with an Abu 7000, perfect weight distribution. It requires at least 12 oz of rig to load the rod in order to cast further. It is perfect for sturgeon fishing from bank.

Only complaint is that it could be lighter, or comes with metal reel seat.

I jusr=t can't say enough about these battalion rods. I have them in casting and spinning, one piece and split grips. They all perform well and are well made.

I always used Penn, very happy with this reel, I own two of this size and one smaller I like they attachment for the hook and line
