Fly fishing is expensive, introduce saltwater and the price goes even higher. Is this the best rod, real and line set up on the market - no. This is however a solid buy for someone getting into the sport and needs something prebuilt for them to start practicing.

Hallo. Werde mich kurz fassen, da es denke ich reicht, wenn ich an dieser Stelle schreibe, dass ich vorher Vertreter der Shimanofraktion war. Der Versand war atemberaubend schnell. Bestellt und zwei Tage später vor Ort. Das Dingen mit feuchten Händen ausgepackt und tadda...., da war das im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes, Goldstück. Super verarbeitet, Rolle wirkt wie aus einem Guss, läuft super Rund, nichts wackelt, oder Schlackert. Der Freilauf muss sich erst etwas einfetten, da der Hersteller hier vermutlich dickes Schmierfett nimmt. Ich war mit diesem Goldstück schon einmal auf Flossenträgerjagd und muss sagen, sehr geil, wirklich einfach nur ein GEILES TEIL. Jederzeit wieder und überlege, ob ich nun alle Shimano's austausche. Die Verarbeitung von den Chinesen kann an dieser Stelle, ob nun Preis -, oder Verarbeitungsmässig, mit den Amis von Penn, einfach nicht mithalten. Ich bin super Happy.

Rod and reel combo came through the delivery system together no box or protection except for a thin plastic bag and a small cardboard cap on the tip. Every guide was bent in all different directions.

The rod it's self overall is a good looking fishing rod but now they make the entire reel seat and all parts out of plastic. Having plastic rings to keep my reel on the rod gives me as much confidence as a paper
parachute. I really expected more from a quality company like PENN. Oh well, live and learn !

Purchased the 7ft heavy model-live baiting for yellowfin.Rod is well made but soooo heavy it renders it useless.Felt I was casting a piece of rebar. To give Penn credit, their Ally conv boat rods are fine. Have no idea what Penn did here but the rod is garbage. DO NOT BUY
