First thing I noticed, this reel is very heavy and I bought it for my wife and right off the bat she didn't like it.
My main issue is it does not have a switch to allow free spooling so back to pennoutlet.com it went.

Lower End Penn Rod&Reel.
Cost approx $80 separated so $60 together is reasonable
Rod is semi stiff, light enough for all day use.
Reel not as smooth as I hopped however I am satisfy with the overall feel.
(this is my 8th penn set, 1st conventional set however)

Great rod/reel combo for the price. Reel needed some manual adjustment and rod is fairly stiff, but did the trick on a west coast charter boat for 1 to 5 lb rockfish -- could have also handled larger fish.
