I never thought of buying a rod and reel combo without holding it in my hand first, but didn't have the time to do so for a upcoming trip. So after reading a few reviews I hit the buy now button and didn't regret doing it. I do a lot of trolling in the gulf of of century Florida and needed a new setup due to the last rod I had broke off a eye ring. This setup worked perfectly all day. Purchased this setup to go after snapper in the gulf. It handled everything very well with 50lb braid with a 50lb topshot. Brought up plenty of grouper as well. No need to spend big money to get just the right reel and rod because you just found it. Buy this set up and you will be happy. Saved $20 on pennoutlet.com’s over local shops but did have to wait a week or so for it to arrive.

Sturdy handles line well under load, nice reel

Got this at a great price and couldn’t pass it up. I’m glad I didn’t because it is a smooth reel and really easy to use. Going to put it on a slow pitch rod and try that out since it is so lightweight. It is currently on a light 8’ rod and I have had a couple backlashes but that’s my fault for not being a better caster. I would recommend it to anyone.
