This is my fourth one of these rods. Great rod, was a little nervous when I saw size of rod compared to line rating the first time I bought one. I’ve caught everything from red snapper to 6 ft sharks. Can’t beat them for the price and they look very good.

Soy ávido pescador desde hace poco mas de 30 años, y por experiencia, los carretes Penn siempre han sido mi primera opcion, fuertes, robustos, y este no es la excepcion, tengo este mismo modelo de la priemra serie, en mano derecha y sigue trabajando como nuevo, sin ningun problema. Para mi, me funciona el tamaño muy bien para trolling y jigging. Lo trabajaremos en busca de jurel y BFT en Baja, México.

I bought the reel a few months ago. Finally used it for the first time today. After my first cast, the reel stopped working. I couldn’t retrieve any line, cus it seized terribly. I tried loosening and tightening the drag but it just wouldn’t work. Don’t waste your time or money.

So I wrote a review on Penn Squall ii 50lw. I loved it. So I bought one more 50lw and I bought (2) Squall ii 30lw reels. Then I bought the neoprene covers to protect them. So…the size you need for the squall ii 40lw and 50lw is the medium cover. Perfect fit. The size you need for the squall ii 20lw and 30lw is small. Again…perfect fit! Anything else, I would encourage you to look at size chart. Very good quality covers hands down. Order up boys and go hook some lip.👍
