Great Reel, this is my 2nd purchase of the same reel as it worked flawless on my last tuna fishing trip out of San Diego, CA. I liked my 1st reel so much I decided to purchase a second. Only drawback is it is made in China and not in the USA like the Avet reels. If you are looking for a reliable reel that gets the job done and doesn't break the bank, then this is the reel for you. the Lever Drag is great as it's low profile keeps out of the way of the line. The rings inside the reel are nice too as you can tell how much line you have left on the reel. I put 390 yards of P Line 30lb test monofilament on it and it was more than enough to handle the Tuna. I wanted to stick with the same model and brand reel on both of my rods to keep consistent with the function of the reel. I have seen too many fish lost due to thinking you have one reel and you have a different reel and the functions are different. Remember if you want to catch fish then don't bring bananas on the boat!!

An excellent boat reel for 40 lb class applications such as yellowtail and tuna under 100 lb. Quality of construction and the drag are tops. It's not suited to distance surf casting though because it proved difficult to control even when all six of its brake shoes are engaged.

Awesome Penn Reel. I do a lot of striper fishing and this reel is ultra smooth, fast, great quality. I recommend it to everyone.
