Reel did not come with brass roller ball on handle, instead has black rubber, disappointed!

I have use the penn battle regularly. When I got this package everything looked great. Rod had no bent eyes or damage to rod. Reel looked clean and no obvious defects on first glance. But first time I used it I noticed casting reeling the line would snag making it jerk around. Tried a few times on the rod and then took the line out. The action felt fine ok wth. Looked closer and saw the reel has a twist and bend in it. Which threw off alignment with the rod. I don’t believe this is damage from shipping as there a no marks on the finish and no damage to box it came in. With the bend and twist being as severe as they are I would think the cast body would snap with the pressure needed to do that.

Arrived just in time for Christmas, Reel looks great can’t wait to put it to the test.

We were home when the dogs alerted us on the UPS delivery after he left I only found one rode

I have it on a penn torque 15. These rods are the best. I usually use 3oz spider weights. I also have the 12' casting and the 12' and 9' spinning. I have had no issues with any of them. I rinse the salt off after I use them. This one is 10' medium cast. The 9' spin and are medium and cast effortlessly. The 12' are heavy and require significant ass to cast. Worth the money

Love this real, have 20 pound test on and it’s paired with a 9 ft. medium heavy Uglystik GX2. Such a well balanced combo. Can sling even the smallest bait across the river. Mostly used for catfish, carp, and whatever else decides to take my bait. Handles big fish very well. The retrieval rate is pretty impressive.

Bought three of these reels for a Cabo San Lucas trip. Reels handled be jacks with no problems. Sreaming drag sound of line peeling off of the reel is amazing. This reel is great and light weight. We will keep using this reel on our next trip to Cabo. Next time we will hopefully have pictures with rooster fish.

Great reel! Looks awesome and this reel will last a long time! You can YouTube this reel to see it in action!

While I only visit the beach once a year I was getting tired of ruining my bass reels with the harsh saltwater that I would always neglect to rinse off after each trip. I’d hate to know how many reels I ruined. I finally decided to buy a saltwater combo and I am so glad that I did! This thing is a beast! The reel is smooth and the drag is the best I’ve seen. I like this combo so much that I use it back home for bass and catfish.

Great pole but I only know that because I've owned one before! pennoutlet.com should maybe put fragile on the box. Pretty upset that a $130 one peice pole came in, in 3 pieces!

Great reel with a very strong smooth drag and the high speed retrieve is very fast

My recent order from Tackle Direct on pennoutlet.com, intended for a crucial 7ft fishing rod, resulted in receiving a cheap soft plastic bait instead. Despite multiple attempts, their customer service has been unresponsive, exacerbating the frustration. Compounding the issue, Tackle Direct has inexplicably canceled multiple orders, casting doubt on their reliability. This disappointment is particularly disheartening as the 7ft fishing rod was vital for an upcoming fishing trip. Tackle Direct's lapses in accuracy, communication, and responsiveness have not only compromised the expected quality of the gear but have also left me in a precarious position as the trip approaches. This regrettable experience prompts caution to others considering Tackle Direct for time-sensitive acquisitions, emphasizing the need for alternative, more reliable options.

This is my favorite rod for summer flounder (fluke) here in New Jersey. It's very comfortable and light. And the action is perfect for feeling a bite. Also love this rod for cast jigging bluefish and stripers. Loads up a 2oz jig perfectly for a long cast.

This is a classic reel for a reason. I've got 3 of them paired with Ugly Sticks and they are perfect boat reels. My only recommendation is to spool them with mono and not braid. I tried putting brain on this and the lack of a device to even the spool out made it so the line collapsed on long retrieves, making a birds nest or worse cutting the braid. Switched to 30# mono and 100% awesome again. I mean, look at the size of fish I caught with this thing!!!!

I like the reels but one that I ordered is missing the screw cap that holds on the handle. Completely makes this new reel unusable. Disappointing.
