Reel arrived with the reel foot detached from the reel. Returned.

These are a little expensive for essentially beer koozies... but whatever. The XXS fits my Penn 500s and Squal 20 perfectly.

Bought Penn US113N for use on my boat locally (Puget Sound) and for my travel arsenal. For travel I matched it up with a two piece Ugly Stik (BWC2201270). First trip with it was to Sea of Cortez where we had it loaded with 250 yards of 40 lb Ande Pink. We used this outfit as our ballyhoo casting rig when sailfish got into the trolling spread. It performed well and we landed (and released) three sailfish with this outfit. Was very effective for the 80 to 100 lb sailfish we landed. For larger fish braid backing will be required to increase the spool capacity as 250 yards seemed to be lower limit of line needed for the quarry we we hunting. Overall great reel and I am expecting to keep it in the arsenal for a long time.

Lost a pole and reel setup on Sunday in SB , this purchase was very quick , able to get back in the water in less then 2 days / besides the delivery on the line that’s a whole different story but pennoutlet.com made it right 5 star purchase from beginning to end

Hooked a nice 2# catfish with this rig. Hooked him using turkey skin. Lot of bend for the size of fish, not sure how,it holds up,with heavier catches but hopefully I,will find out.

This review is about 60 days in the making...... bought this at the end of August 2021 and wanted to put some ample time for testing this before leaving a modest review First off, the reel is light as a feather, and as smooth as butter! I was really impressed with the Gen III line of reels for Penn, particularly the Battle and Clash models. I have used a Clash 4000 for over 4 years and since it needed some repairs, went with overall upgrading to the newer Clash II 4000. So far it has been spectacular. Has been great handling some mid-larger class fish, including a 35 inch striped bass from shore. It is spooled with 15lb power pro super slick v2, and has been a delight to fish with. I was especially impressed with the larger EVA knob option that they provide, along with the stock handle. That way you don't need to spend an extra $20-40 bucks on a larger knob handle, or Slammer III handle Small con I do have, is with the line roller. Seems as though if it is not slicked up enough, it will make a scratching noise upon retrieval when there is resistance on the line (even something as simple as retrieving a lure through the current). Little bit of oil seems to have helped, but drew some concerns given that I have not even had this reel for a couple months. Also $230 is a bit of a steep price jump, whereas the Battle reels are about $100 less and also viable options for light tackle fishing. Even the older Clash models were in the $150-180 range..... so hopefully the price can come down a bit in due time when newer reels are made available With the line roller, and price in mind, I unfortunately have to knock it down a star. Hopefully the line roller is the only flaw I observe with this reel..... otherwise it is a solid buy

Got Penn Clash2 for Christmas Set Up with Ugly Stik 9” and 30 pound line First cast I landed 24” red fish and two more after. I also own Penn Slammer 3500 and 4500 but this is a lot lighter without sacrificing performance. I ordered one more for my wife. She uses Shampoo Stratic and I am sure she will love this one better

It fits my Penn battle 3 (5000) but looks too tight attached to the rod. Size (M)

So many mixed feelings on this rod. When it was working it worked really well. It feels good when fighting both large and small fish and the grip is amazing. Problem is that the cheap cost seems to come from quality control. 4th eye from tip had a hairline fracture that only became and issue when rod was really flexed and then it would instantly cut the line. Epoxy around a number of the eyes is also separating. Then came the major failure pictured. Yes it was from a medium sized reef shark, but it survived the whole fight until my wife was going to cut the leader and the shark gave a last ditch shake. It was not a high stick, both my hands were on foam and the rod was barely above parallel. Wife was touching neither line nor rod yet. I wouldn’t have even thought about a shark breaking a rod if it weren’t for the odd strength configuration this rod displays. When trolling a 4oz you can see an odd bend right above where it snapped which is where it changes from solid tip to hollow. The tip seems to be a fair deal stronger than the thinnest part where it is hollow. Their intent was to make the rod less prone to high stick snaps, but it seems to over stress the shaft right there. Rod is a year old, mainly pulls in 20” bluefish and is just the backup to my Penn Carnage Bluewater. Never transported or stored anywhere it could get damaged.

Pole arrived missing the reel handle.

This cover only fits a GT320GTI if the GT320GTI has no line on it and is NOT attach to a fishing rod. Most fisherman want/need a cover that covers their reel when transporting to fishing destination. This means - the Reel is mounted ON the rod and the line is fed through the eyes of the fishing pole. This cover does NOT offer this protection as mentioned above. Next time I'm going to go with the LARGER model. Maybe this way I will be able to leave the Reel on the Rod with line fed out. Shimano and the other cover manufactures (Jaws) accomplish it with no problem at all. Their covers accommodate the "line" travel with a cut-out. With Penn, you're going to have to "slit" part of the cover for the line that feeds out through the eyes of the rod. Or your cover will not sit correctly on reel. Attached pictures show comparison between Penn (black cover) and "Jaws" (Blue cover - another manufacture). Notice the special cut in the Jaws model for line travel on the fishing pole. On the Penn reel there is no such special cut, it probably will not last that long.

The reel is not a problem, but the rod was a repaired rod. The tip is not the original PENN ceramic lined tip. The tip is sharp as to cut any line that goes through it. I threw away the box before I realized it was not new. Beware. pennoutlet.com would only let me return but too much hassle finding a box the right size etc.

My new 6' heavy action Penn Carnage Spinning Rod CARJGII80200S60 is a beast! The huge and very tall eyelets match perfectly to my monstrous Penn SVV10500 reel. As I am a gator hunter I added 400lb test braided Dyneema and 600lb American Fishing Wire snaps, swivels and cable. As a test I rigged up a 300lb barbell and lifted the entire thing off the ground. I had to hold the spool on the reel to do it, but the feat was quite impressive. I am amazed how thin this rod is and yet is casts 12 ounce 16/0 weighted treble hooks like nothing, even with the ridiculous 1.3mm thick line. I run out of line before this rod runs out of cast.

Warning: You get an unwrapped reel in a cardboard box. No Penn box, paperwork, warranty info, user paperwork....nothing. Nada, nil, zilch, zero. Just a reel, stuffed in a shipping box with nothing else but a piece of bubble wrap. Rod comes in a nice tube, but still, nothing but a small tag on an eyelet. Every Penn I've ever bought over to the years comes in a Penn box, with all the necessary and obligatory paperwork, (even a 309m I bought earlier this week on pennoutlet.com). You may as well walk into Wally world and by some bargain-basement rig for as cheap as you can get. Apparently, Penn & or this seller provide you with less for buying both a Penn rod and a Penn reel rather than just a reel. Lesson learned. Caveat emptor.

Best reel for New England haddock and cod, super smooth 6.1 ratio
