    I bought the 10’ / 6500 spinning comb for Long Island surf.
    Spinfishers can be a little heavy but always rock solid performers.
    Except for the one piece guides , rod is basically the same as my 10’ Penn Prevail.
    Plenty of Stripers this season.
    Casts well.
    Great value.
    Very pleased.

    The only reel I have ever had you can drop in saltwater a rinse off and still be good. Only a few of the Penns have sealed bearings and this is one of them. I kayak fish and that is a big deal to me so i spend the money. I have 5 in all the sizes and use them weekly, and they give me no issues. I have caught some big red fish on these reels. I will buy more when these wear out and use the old ones for parts.

    For the price, the whole package looks great. Unfortunately, the rod arrived with issues on the guides. The coating on the guides is either inconsistent or cracked. I thought about returning it, but I have trip coming up. I’ll just figure out how to clean up the guides and try it out.

    Rod and reel combo came through the delivery system together no box or protection except for a thin plastic bag and a small cardboard cap on the tip. Every guide was bent in all different directions.

    The rod it’s self overall is a good looking fishing rod but now they make the entire reel seat and all parts out of plastic. Having plastic rings to keep my reel on the rod gives me as much confidence as a paper
    parachute. I really expected more from a quality company like PENN. Oh well, live and learn !

    Second time I have ordered this rod/reel combo. First time I ordered this item it was damaged due to shipping it in clear plastic with no protection. This is a 300$ reel, it is astonishing that they do not protect this item for people spending good money on this item. I received my replacement in the mail today and it was also broken. The fiberglass was crushed where the two rods connect to make 1 singular rod. Penn is making quality product for pennoutlet.com to ship w zero protection. I guarantee 7 out of 10 rods are received damaged. I’ve ordered 3 rods from here in 3 weeks and every single rod was damaged. It just blows my mind. Do not order from here guys. Until this issue has been addressed.

    Excellent combo, smooth reel! Lost a star because one of my eyelids on the rod showed up bent and made a hairline crack but I can deal with it. A new rod would be nice
