Good rod but i ordered cork handle but got foam, packaging isnt great either. It comes with 2 pieces of cardboard and plastic ziptied around it inside of a box. I got 7’6 medium heavy for snook fishing

I own 13 Penn rods and reels and I am very pleased with them. That being said, this particular one is not one of them. I purchased this rod 4 times and every time I received it, at least one of the guides was significantly off centered. After the last time, I reached out to Penn to see if there was anything that they would/could do because I really wanted this rod. I was instructed to fill out a warranty claim so I did. Never received a response. Reached out to Penn several times and they never returned my calls or responded to my emails. Very poor customer service. I’ve spent a lot of my hard earned money on their products and they clearly have no appreciation for their customers.

I’ve fished with this rod for more than six months… freshwater and saltwater. I’ve caught everything from tiny bluegill, to largemouth bass, to redfish, to gafftop, and 30in blacktip sharks from the surf on this rod.

You can place your trust in this rod. I have the 7ft extra heavy fast action rod. I wanted a rod I could catch just about anything on and this has not disappointed. Paired with a Penn Battle III – 6000 reel, I have no complaints.

This is a great rod with sensitivity, enough backbone to handle 30” redfish and enough give to use a lighter line for those sudden runs a redfish makes. I ended up buying 3 because I liked them so much.

I do a lot of jigging from shore and needed something that was lightweight but had enough muscle to pull in some good sized fluke. Overall a great rod; good flexibility but still enough backbone for a great hook set.

My only complaint would be the way it was shipped. Just kinda stuffed in a long box with no bubble wrap/paper etc.. just a 20″ thin plastic sleeve over the middle of the rod which seemed pointless. But no harm, no foul…so five stars.
