I am a newbie when it comes to sea fishing and have no idea what is good or bad quality. But one thing I do know is the first real I bought for 25 quid fell to pieces within six months so I thought I needed to do some research. After asking a lot of questions to other fisherman I discovered there were two or three brands which ranked higher than all the rest so then I had to try and do some narrowing down. Eventually I decided on this model and I only chose the 8000 because that’s what I had before. I must say I am delighted with the smooth running and operation of this beautiful real and have filled it right to the top with good quality braid and went straight out to fish with it to see if I could break it in. It took me three visits to catch my first fish on this lovely piece of equipment and to my amazement it was more so my first ever seabass weighing 6 1/2 pounds. So the bottom line is I really love this real and to make sure I stayed loyal to the brand. I also bought a rod.

Reel looks good and feels good. Very smooth action and nice retrieval rate. It came w/2 spools so changing line is a breeze. This reel has helped me cast a little further than my other reels ( 10’ to 20’ ). I’m sure I can get more out of it w/a little more practice. Only used it for one season so time will tell. For now loving it and would definitely recomend.

Finally got my reel it only took 3 times of ordering it. So I changed my rating from 1 star to 5. This reel is amazing can’t wait till I get to use it at the coast. The first order was lost in transit the second showed up broke and unusable and the third showed up just fine. The carrier was the biggest problem with my deliveries. Looking forward to enjoying this reel.
