   Gorgeous rod. Arrived in one piece, but pennoutlet.coms packaging leaves something to be desired. These should be delivered in tubes and bubble wrapped, not highly bendable cardboard boxes. If you have time to spare for sending packages back in case of damage, no problem. If you’re in a rush and you need to know for sure the pole is in one piece, buy local (the pole I purchased before this had a snapped tip). Packaging aside, I love it!

   This is my third Penn Carnage II rod, two conventional and one spinning, this one being the 50-130, and over the past two years the two lighter rods brought in some big offshore fish. This is Penn’s best rod, and just going by the components used, which are second to none in the industry, I made these my go to rods for year’s to come. I have no doubt they will stand up to any offshore challenge.

   So I did a bunch of research for a new boat casting rod and with budget and needs I settled on PENN carnage 6”6 medium heavy rod boat casting, rates for 50-130 braid. Paired that with a PENN fathom 25lw. I LOVE THIS COMBO! I primarily chunk and bottom fish in New England. I’ve caught many fish on this rod including sea bass, fluke, and porgies and some big stripers. Landed a 39” bass today and the rod was perfect and very sensitive. I would highly recommend this rod for someone who wants to fish anything but requires the backbone for a larger fish hook up. Highly recommended!
