   I bought the medium sized cover for my Spinfisher V 5500 reel based on Penn’s recommendation chart and it is a VERY tight fit. It works as advertised, but the large size would have been better for that particular reel. I thought about subtracting a star because of the poor size recommendation, but the product itself is great, so for that it gets five stars. It’s a great cover and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. My reel is well protected while riding in the back of the Jeep with other gear or being carried from the parking lot out to the surf or pier. The neoprene is pretty thick and it’s definitely worth spending fifteen bucks to protect your expensive reel that can cost a hundred dollars or more. Buy one and enjoy the peace of mind. Just go a size larger. You’re better off with a cover that’s too big than one that’s too small and doesn’t fit at all.

   I finally graduated from my old garage sale specials and Mickey Mouse fishing reels and picked up a few Penn reels. Namely a Battle II 2500 and 4000, a Spinfisher VI and a couple of Shimano Stradics.
   Great looking little bag, the fit however is tight. Go up a size from recommended on the Penn site though. The pouches work great as I put my fishing gear inside the bed of my pick ‘em up truck along with a couple of fold out chairs and ice chest. These reels were not cheap and I prefer to take care of such things, these pouches offer pretty good protection and look good to boot. Overall, pleased with the purchase. Hoping to add one or two more this coming year. Yay fishing:)

    Looks great and works well. I purchased a MEDIUM for a Battle 2 2500. You definitely need to size up one from the spreadsheet’s recommendation. With the next size up I can just loosen the handle then fold it rather than remove it entirely. I’ll be getting a large for my 5000.
