Works Great. I can cast my Squall SDCS at least 200-300 yards without any issue. I could get Farther but have to work on my technique. Size is perfect. Very nice design and the Rod is very Durable when tackling a decent sized fish. Casts like a Dream . Rod doesn’t weight a lot so it makes casting even easier.

If you want to be a professional angler, this is the fishing pole for you. My son bought this along with a bunch of other crap to make himself a fine set up for his fishing career. He’s the next bill dance. It’s a great pole, buy it!

Product arrived with little damage but in a container far too big for the contents…no additional packing to assist it inside….apart from that its is an ok rod……not really worth the price though. 3stars

Love this rod I bought 12’ for long distance casting 4-8 oz weight and it works and feels great love the grips way better than Eva foam and price is great compared to st. Croix surf rod or high competition casting rods ….. this rod or the okuma longitude are I believe the best surf rods for the money….. works great long distance casting n large river for cats

I really like the Pole, the grips feel nice in my hands and the pole flexes nicely with a 4 oz weight on cast. I can outcast my surf spinning reel with this pole and my Penn Squall 15. My only complaint is when I ordered the poles they were labeled as 12′ poles and I received 10′ poles and even the replacements that I requested when i called pennoutlet.com about the issue were also 10′ but I liked the pole so much with my reel I kept one and sent the others back. I would not be afraid to bring in a larger stripper with this gear.

Not the lightest, not the most fit and finished. It’s not suppose to be! It’s a workhorse that actually casts very, very well. Loads of big satanic gorilla bluefish have fallen victim to mine as well as bass, rays, skates, sharks…. You name it. I have a 30 sized daiwa sealine xsha on it (another pure casting workhorse) with 50 lb power pro. This is the no nonsense surf rod and fair priced.

I fish them hard enough to wear down the grips. But I don’t know that any pole could handle that better. I run braid but the all metal guides look great after ~3yrs(I was told the guides would get sewn through by the braid). It’s a little stiff at the tip for small game. But gives extra strength for game above what you’d normally want a 10’ pole for. Also that extra stiffness gives it a healthy launching power that I really love(casting 4-5 oz). It’s a new set of specs for their line up. I hope they keep it.

It is very light and with very strong backbone. It is very well made rod. Shipping was extremely quick and first time ever it didn’t get damage. However, it was struggle to cast a small piece cut bait and a 10 oz sinker, so I switched to a penn battalion 12’ heavy.
