I started with 30lb power pro braid and spoons, the 30lb was a bit much for this reel.
Currently testing 15lb lower grade line and 1/2 oz VuDu shrimp. Pretty good but will test with a 3/4 oz here soon.
I have it paired with a 7’6″ rod — medium action. Will add more as the season progresses.

This is a mighty fine reel. I use it for saltwater Tautog (aka blackfish) jigging. It has horsed in many a blackfish without so much as a hiccup. It is extemely smooth with a lot of power. I have it spooled with approx. 200 yds of 50-lbs Angryfish AGWX9 braided line. I’ve casted out to 50+ yds with a 2-oz sinker and a piece of bait. Have caught black seabass and jumbo Scup (aka porgy) on this reel using the stock handle, but switched to a power handle for blackfish. Cranking power is a lot better and smoother with a power handle. Love this reel! Just put her on a new rod -Tsumami Trophy Series 7-ft, extra heavy power 1-pc rod with acid-wrapped guides.
